Alternatively the historic market town of Penrith is just a short taxi ride away. Right on the doorstep of the National Lake District Park, Lake Ullswater is just 6 miles away with its regular steamers service from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding throughout the year. Other attractions include Aira Force waterfall, Whinlatter Forest Park, Dalemain Historic House and Gardens, Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum. For the kids there’s Trotters World of Animals, Eden Ostrich World or South Lakes Wild Animal Park to name but a few.

There are Golf courses, Driving Ranges at Penrith, Pony Trekking, and Carlisle race course. Even when its wet there’s the World Beatrix Potter, the Aquarium of the Lakes and not to mention the Lake District most popular attraction - Rheged Discovery Centre with it’s giant cinema screen which is as big six double decker buses.

Simply exit the M6 at Junction 41 and follow the sign the sign post to Wigton. The 1st turn off on your left will take you into Newton Reigny, Just follow the signs.
